2020 | Assisting Young People

The Trustees of the Sutherland Self Help Trust Board advise that 2020 funding will be made to organisations which:

“assist young people with long term health conditions including physical, mental and intellectual disabilities.”

Funding Context

The transition from adolescence to adulthood is a major developmental challenge for everyone. Research indicates that young people with long term health conditions experience major disruption as they mature to adulthood.

Along with the physical challenges they encounter, young people with long term health conditions are more likely than other young people to suffer from low self-esteem, have gaps in their education, employment and relationship experiences, have fewer protective factors and greater risk behaviours.

If your organisation has a project that may assist young people with long term health conditions, please apply.
